Environment & Hygiene Awareness Program

Empowering Girls. Protecting the Planet.

Why This Program Matters

Every month, millions of sanitary pads are used and disposed of improperly — in open drains, behind buildings, flushed down toilets, or buried in soil. Most of these contain 90% plastic and take 500–800 years to decompose.

This silent crisis is damaging our environment, polluting water bodies, clogging sewage systems, and exposing sanitation workers to serious health hazards.

At Combat, we believe awareness is the key to sustainable hygiene. Our school and college programs aim to educate girls not only about menstrual hygiene but also about their role in protecting the environment.

What We Aim to Do

Our program is designed to:

Raise awareness about the environmental damage caused by plastic-based pads

Break taboos around menstruation and disposal habits

Educate girls on safe and hygienic sanitary disposal practices

Encourage adoption of eco-conscious habits using Combat Sanitary Disposal Bags

Create a generation of responsible, aware, and confident young women

What the Program Includes

Interactive Awareness Sessions

Fun, engaging talks with visual aids, real-world data, and simple science behind hygiene and waste.

Live Demo of Combat Bags

We show how a simple, affordable product can change disposal practices and protect the earth.

Discussion: What Happens After Disposal?

Students learn where used pads go, how they affect soil, water, air, and sanitation systems.

Q&A With Experts

Students clear doubts, ask questions, and feel safe to talk about their hygiene.

Did You Know?

One woman uses 8,000–10,000 pads in her lifetime.

Improperly disposed pads end up in landfills, sewers, and lakes.

Sanitation workers handle unwrapped pads by hand, risking infections.

India generates over 1 billion soiled sanitary products annually
